9 Months Old!!

Ava turned 9 months old yesterday! I can't believe that in just a few short months she will be one -- time is flying by!

Ava seems to be growing by leaps and bounds lately. She is a super crawler at this point. She is so fast that we have to watch her at all times. She also pulls up to standing on everything (including her crib rails -- her crib is now on the lowest setting). I really think she'll be walking soon.

She started giving hugs and kisses -- but NOT on demand! She'll just crawl over to me sometimes and plant a big (open-mouth) kiss on my face -- so sweet! She also JUST recently started saying "ma" (for mama) and "meh" (for milk, which is what we call formula). She broke out "ma" today when she was in her crib for naptime and didn't want to sleep; she knows how to pull at my heartstrings!

She is eating practically everything now (except the obvious that she can't have until after she turns one -- nuts, honey, egg whites, shellfish). Her new favorite is grilled cheese sandwiches -- she loves carbs and cheese, just like mom and dad. But she also loves fruits, veggies, and chicken, so she eats a pretty well-balanced diet.

She had her 9-month check-up today, and she is doing great! She's getting very long and skinny. She weighs 21lbs, 4 oz (75th-90th percentile) and is 30 inches tall (above the 99th percentile). Again, her head circumference (48 cm) wasn't even on the chart. Gotta make room for all those brains!
