2 Months Old!

Ava is 2 months old!

This has been a big month for Ava! She started smiling responsively, is able to focus more, and has longer awake periods during the day. She loves to watch her mobile or any colorful toys. She also loves music and sounds and responds to Mommy and Daddy's voices. :) She also has more control over her body. She reaches out for toys, although she can't grab them yet. And her neck muscles are much stronger!

We had her two-month check-up today, and she looks great. She is 24 1/2 inches long and weighs 12 pounds. :) She also had her shots, poor thing. She cried during them (as did I), but she calmed down quickly. So far she is a little crabby, but doesn't have a fever or anything. Whew!

Our pedi also decided to refer us to a pediatric GI for Ava's reflux. While she seems to be having less episodes per day (twice a day as opposed to 4 or 5 times a day), it seems to be hurting her more. She used to cry only while she was trying to eat and would calm very quickly afterwards. Now she cries for 20 to 30 minutes after she eats and is inconsolable during that time. I'm hoping the GI doc will prescribe prevacid, as I've read and heard a lot about it and it seems to be much more effective than zantac.

Some pictures of my happy little girl (before shots, obviously):
