Ava is such a little kid now -- what a fun age!
Her language has really taken off. She learns new words every day -- it is amazing. Her newest words this week are purple, hippo, Ernie (from Sesame Street), and hand. She has also started to put phrases together ("CeCe cry,"Elmo all done," etc.).
She is OBSESSED with Mary Poppins. She would watch the entire movie, start to finish, over and over all day long if we'd let her. She knows all the songs, all the dances (my favorites are when she marches or when she waddles like a penguin), and says "boom" or "ha ha ha" at all the right times along with the movie. There is a scene where Mary Poppins's reflection starts singing in the mirror, and Mary Poppins says "cheeky." Ava sings "Ahhh ahhhh AHHHHH" and then says "cheeky." She did this for about 20 minutes in the car the other day -- Dave and I were cracking up.

She also loves pretend play, whether it's dressing up, pretending to cook, being a little mommy, etc. She loves to color and fingerpaint and really likes matching things or putting things back together. Ava is getting very good at following multi-step directions. I'll tell her to go pick something up and put it on the table or in the laundry basket and she knows exactly what to do. She is a great helper when it comes to the twins!
We also started swim lessons a few weeks ago (really just to acclimate her to the pool) and she absolutely LOVES them. The only problem is that she tries to get me to let her go in the water! She sits on the side of the pool and tries to hop in without me catching her.
Look at that pouty face! How could you say no to that?
Aaaaaand 5 seconds later she's happy again.
