My Cuddly Little Bear

It is freezing here today, so I would have preferred to stay home and not have to take Ava out to brave the cold. But, we had her 2-week pediatrician appointment today, so we had to go out. I bundled her up in her little bear snowsuit, since her carseat cover has not arrived yet. Seriously, could she BE any cuter??

The appointment went really well. Her actual pediatrician had her baby yesterday (six weeks early!), so we saw her associate. I absolutely love him -- he is so friendly and warm and answered all of my questions very patiently.

Ava now weighs 8lb, 3oz, so she has gained half a pound from last week (she lost six ounces after birth, which is completely normal of all newborns). She also grew an inch and a half from birth -- she is 22 inches long now. She is in the 50th percentile for weight and the 97th for height. According to the doc, she is a stringbean. But, she's gaining just as she should, so he is chalking it up to her having tall parents. The doc said she looks perfect and has excellent muscle tone. He put her on her stomach, and she started army crawling across the table! Our next appointment is in two weeks, when she will be 1 month old.
