Sorry for the lack of updates -- I'm working full-time in three schools, so things are busy, to say the least. There should be more updates this month, as there are lots of things going on --pumpkin patch, Halloween, first birthday party, etc.
I can't believe there is less than a month until Ava's first birthday! She has been a busy, busy girl!
The biggest news -- she walks! She has been "cruising" and standing unassisted for quite awhile now, but she finally started taking steps without holding on!
Last month Ava also learned to drink from a straw, got her 7th tooth, had her first "ponytail" (kind of), started dancing, and started climbing stairs. We actually assumed that she couldn't climb stairs yet, because she never showed any interest. Once day Dave put one of her toys on the fifth or sixth step just to see, and she climbed right up without a problem! Thank goodness she doesn't seem motivated to climb them and pretty much stays away from them when we're in the family room. She is eating too many things to count (favorites are still mac-n-cheese and grilled cheese, though she also loves beans), and we are slowly weaning her off formula. She's also gone back to sleeping through the night again, now that the teething seems to be over for the time being. Thank goodness for that!
Of course, Ava's favorite toys are still things that she's not allowed to have (remote, thermometer, phone, laptop, tubes of anything). All the toys in the family room, and she makes a beeline for the computer all day long.
It is getting harder and harder to get her to sit in the chair to take her monthly picture...
